Investing in the Black Sea will be carried out after all, says the Energy minister, Anton Anton.

He denies having blocked any investment and rejects the accusations of following Russian propaganda. „I’m glad that energy is such an important subject in which we are debating some things, in my opinion, presented in strange ways. I do not want to comment on how the norms appeared, when they appeared, why they came … I want to comment on the part with Russian propaganda. I’m sorry that a colleague accuses me of saying that I have taken insults. I do not think I have ever cursed someone in the Parliament. That I used Russian propaganda elements…I do not think it happened and I do not think there is any document that supports this,” Anton said in a speech, rejecting the motion forwarded by liberal party PNL against him.

„I do not think I did anything against the interests of Romania. I did not lobby long enough, maybe you think the minister’s chair is very comfortable. I invite you to sit on it, see how it is. I have not blocked any investment. Investments in the Black Sea have unlocked and will keep unlocking. We always complain that domestic production is not enough and we prove it is not enough. So far we have taken gas from the Russians, now I am accused of taking gas from the Russians, and I do not understand this… Romania has not enough gas to ensure domestic production at today’s level, with 30% of the population not connected to gas, with petrochemical plants stopped, with several gas plants and more on coal,” Anton said, quoted by Agerpres.
