ANRE: The share of vulnerable consumers can rise up to 50%

The maximum share of vulnerable consumers of energy services, depending on the consumption achieved, could be of up to 50%, announced the market regulatory body, ANRE.

”From the over 8,700,000 household customers, according to the reports related to the first semester of 2020, sent by suppliers to ANRE to obtain the data necessary for reporting to INS-EUROSTAT, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 1952/2016 of the Parliament European Parliament and the Council, over 50% of the total are customers with an average consumption of 55 kWh/month, which can be included in the category of vulnerable consumers,” say ANRE officials.

At the same time, at the end of October 2020, out of a number of over 8,700,000 household consumers, a percentage of over 32.8% (2,915,243 customers) chose to conclude supply contracts at competitive prices.

In order to facilitate customers’ access to information on the offers of the various suppliers, so that they can choose the offer best suited to their needs, ANRE makes available to them, on its website, the computer application “Comparator of offers of electricity”, in which are the offers on the competitive market of electricity suppliers, as well as a Call-center service dedicated to the liberalization of the energy market.
