The level of regulated tariffs for electricity delivered to domestic customers by last resort suppliers will not change from January 1, 2020, announces the National Energy Regulatory Authority.

“The regulatory committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority had, as the main item on the agenda of today’s meeting, the approval of the regulated electricity tariffs applied to domestic customers by the last-resort suppliers. As a result of the decision taken today, the level of the regulated tariffs applied to the domestic clients by the providers of last resort are maintained at the level of those in force, at this moment,” it is mentioned in the statement.

The Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment, Virgil Popescu, declared last week, in an interview with Agerpres, that he is convinced that ANRE will not change the tariffs for the domestic consumers, neither on electricity, nor on gas.

“I am convinced that from January ANRE will not change the tariffs neither for electricity nor for natural gas for the domestic consumers, that is for the population, regardless of fact that has now appeared in the market that the distribution tariff and the transport tariff increase by 3%. I am convinced that the price of electricity and natural gas for the domestic customers will not increase,” said Popescu.
