On September 26, 2019, a Cooperation and Assistance Program was signed between the National Agency for Energy Regulation of the Republic of Moldova and the National Energy Regulatory Authority in Romania. The document was signed by Veaceslav Untila, General Director of ANRE of the Republic of Moldova, and Dumitru Chiriță, the President of the National Energy Regulatory Authority of Romania, who was on a working visit to Chisinau.

“Today’s event is a very important one for the development of the partnership between the authorities of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, and tomorrow we will sign a collaboration memorandum that will be the basis for the intensification of the relations between the two authorities, so that good practices will be promoted and learned by we, in the consolidation of our tradition relationship”, declared Dumitru Chiriță, president of ANRE Romania – ANRE, on September 25, during the first edition of the conference series “Regional Approach: Partners in energy – global expertise, local opportunities”, organized by energynomics.ro, in Chisinau.

The objective of the program is to develop and intensify bilateral cooperation on multiple levels, in order to adopt the best practices in regulating the energy sector, as well as the implementation of European and international standards in the following areas of responsibility: the electricity, natural gas, thermo-energy, licensing, monitoring and control of licensed activities, legal issues and consumer protection issues, energy surveillance, information technology (IT) field, international cooperation and communication.

“The collaboration between the two public authorities will include regular meetings at the level of the management of the subordinate authorities or structures, the exchange of experience and the provision of support in the field of elaboration and improvement of the national legislative-normative regulatory framework in the energy field through the experience of Romania as a member state of the European Union, joint projects, with the attraction of available European funds, study visits, training courses for employees, participation in conferences, meetings, seminars or other actions organized with the support of international partners”, ANRE reports.
