ANRE decided on Monday a new extension, for six months, of the deadline for submitting additional capacity reservation requests on BRUA pipeline, after two other extensions, according to sources close to the situation cited by financialintelligence.ro.

At the end of last year, part of the gas supply capacity reservation contracts on the future BRUA pipeline, which will strengthen the interconnection between Romania and Hungary, contracts signed at the end of 2017, were terminated by the bidding companies (from Hungary) until the deadline of December 14, 2018, according to profit.ro.

The publication showed that the next booking round, held on January 7-21, 2019, ended with a volume of reserved transportation capacity below the minimum necessary for investments in the new pipeline to be economically profitable, as has been announced, then, by the gas operators in Romania and Hungary, Transgaz and FGSZ. The situation has stalled so far, with the previous deadline for submission of offers expiring this Monday.
