Gas suppliers have deposited 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas for this winter, 30% more than the mandatory minimum stock imposed by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), according to a statement of the institution.

In order to ensure continuity in the supply of natural gas to final customers, ANRE establishes annually the quantities of natural gas representing the minimum stocks to be stored by each supplier, so as to ensure an adequate level of internal consumption, under conditions of continuity and safety.

At the same time, according to the obligations established by the Law on energy and natural gas no. 123/2012, with subsequent amendments and completions, Transgaz, as operator of the natural gas transmission system, must hold in the underground deposits or ensure the acquisition of the quantities of natural gas necessary for the permanent operation and the physical balance of the transport system, according to Agerpres.

ANRE has determined a minimum natural gas stock level of 23,497,313,689 MWh (2.217 billion cubic meters), equivalent to 29% of the consumption of the 2017-2018 extraction period.
