The Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has approved the new Regulation on the connection to the natural gas transport system.

The connection regulation sets out the steps required to connect to the natural gas transmission system as well as the obligation of the transmission system operator to connect all applicants within 180 days of obtaining the building permit. The novelty is that all expenses incurred for connecting applicants will be recovered by the carrier through the transport tariffs.

At the same time, the new Regulation establishes the conditions for connection to the natural gas transmission system of the administrative-territorial units, their associations, as well as inter-community development associations, and in case of establishment of intelligent distribution systems based on the implementation of the National Connection Program of the population and non-household customers to the intelligent natural gas distribution system achieved through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program, the connection can be made by accessing non-reimbursable European funds.

“In accordance with the amendments brought with the adoption of Law no. 155/2020 for the amendment and completion of the Law on electricity and natural gas no. 123/2012 and regarding the modification and completion of other normative acts, and taking into account the provisions of the Emergency Ordinance no. 128 of July 31, 2020 on some measures for the establishment of the National Program for connecting the population and non-household customers to the intelligent natural gas distribution system, the ANRE Regulatory Committee approved in the meeting of Friday, September 25, 2020, the Order 172/2020 approving of the Regulation on the connection to the natural gas transmission system,” it is shown in the ANRE release.

“The connection regulation establishes the steps necessary for the connection to the natural gas transmission system as well as the obligation of the transmission and system operator to connect all applicants within 180 days from obtaining the building permit. The novelty consists in the fact that all the expenses incurred for the connection of the applicants will be recovered by the transport operator through the transport tariffs.”
