The number of unemployed people in Romania, due to the Coronavirus, is about one million, taking into account the suspended and terminated employment contracts at the end of May, according to a press release of the National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship (CONAF).

“To this figure will be added the number of Romanians coming from abroad who are looking for a job. Because the economic situation is declining around the world, it is expected that more and more Romanians will decide to return home,” is mentioned in the statement.

According to Eurostat data, the share of the active population in Romania (aged between 20 and 64) who left the country has tripled in a decade, from 7.5% in 2007 to 19.7% in 2017, according to Agerpres.
